It can be reached by a motor-able vehicle to the summit of the ridge followed by a short hike on a paved way to the edge of the ridge which is called Rasong View Point which offers 270-degree sweeping views of the canyon with two vast stretches of undulated mountain ridge enveloped in lush green vegetation running parallel along either side of a deep valley of the Laitlum river. The ridge on the east side of the canyon is taller and more imposing than the one on the west side.

Wari Chora, an awesome river canyon is situated at Paromgre Village of South Garo Hills at a distance of 40 km from the nearest town Baghmara. The Wari Chora River Canyon is 45 ft. in height and stretches up to 1 km. The gushing rivulets of the Rongdik River calm down and turn turquoise blue in color upon entering the canyon and flow gently through the narrow gorge having two small waterfalls plunging from the top of the moss-covered black cliffs. The best time to visit is just after the monsoon season when the water levels are moderately high and the canyon is lush and green. 9) The Dawki-Jowai Road

To reach the falls, you must kayak across a small river. The plain terrain is followed by a steep descent to Paradise Falls. You have reached your destination if. It is a two-tiered waterfall. It is also famed as Paradise Waterfall as “Phe” is a Jaintia word that means Heaven (Jaintia is one of the significant ethnic gatherings of Meghalaya).

The waterfall is unique in its appeal and essence as you will come across a cave-like enclosure within which 150-foot-tall waterfalls plunge into the aquamarine pool situated at its bottom. When you get to the waterfall, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to Earth’s paradise. It is an ideal location for photography. The water is cold, clear, and as brilliant blue as the sky. It is a pure pleasure to swim and take a dip in these waters.

10 ) Umiam Lake

The captivating man-made reservoir known as Umiam Lake can be found 15 kilometers to the north of Shillong, the capital of the north-eastern Indian state of Meghalaya. After a dam was built to generate hydroelectric power, the lake formed.
