Sonamarg, Feb 19: The 8th National Snowshoe Championship 2024, held amidst the breathtaking vistas of snow-covered Sonamarg, concluded on a high note, leaving behind memories of fierce competition and camaraderie among participants. Spanning from February 17th to 20th, this prestigious championship showcased the pinnacle of athleticism and endurance against the backdrop of Kashmir’s winter wonderland.

Chief Executive Officer of Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA) Farooq Ahmad Baba and General Secretary of J&K Snowshoe Association Altaf Ahmed presided over the ceremony, awarding the deserving winners with gold, silver, and bronze medals alongside mementoes. Additionally, cash prizes were announced to recognize and motivate the participants for their dedication to the sport of snowshoeing.

The championship, spanning three days, witnessed fierce competition among snowshoe athletes hailing from various states across India.
