After a month-long dry spell, the snowfall has finally bestowed its magic upon Himachal Pradesh and the Western Himalayas, transforming the region into a mesmerizing winter wonderland.

However In the wake of the recent heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, a dramatic rescue operation unfolded near the Atal Tunnel in Rohtang, showcasing the dedication and efficiency of the Himachal Pradesh Police. Approximately 300 tourists found themselves stranded near the South Portal (SP) of the Atal Tunnel after their vehicles, including 50 and a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus, got stuck in the snow.

Acting swiftly, Kullu SP Sakshi Verma, along with a dedicated team comprising Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Manali, Tehsildar Manali, Station House Officer (SHO) Manali, and others, initiated a meticulous rescue operation to ensure the safety of the stranded tourists.

Braving the challenging weather conditions, the rescue team worked tirelessly to evacuate all 300 tourists from the snow-covered area near the Atal Tunnel. The successful rescue mission not only highlights the coordination and expertise of the rescue team but also emphasizes the commitment of the authorities to ensuring the well-being of visitors in the region.

The tourists, who were temporarily marooned by the snow, have now been safely evacuated, underscoring the responsive and proactive measures taken by the Himachal Pradesh Police.
