Day 01: NJP to Pelling Transfer

On day 1 of your 15 Days Darjeeling North Sikkim Pelling Tour Package, get transferred to Pelling after a warm welcome from SetMyTrip's representative. Pelling is more than 140 kilometres away from the Njp Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport and it is 6 hour journey.

Pelling is a touristy town in Sikkim and is situated at an elevation of 2150 meters. Pelling offers a scenic view of Mount Kanchenjunga, Pandim, Zopuno, Shimbho, Narsing, Sinolchu etc. After reaching Pelling rest of the day is free to wander around this hilly settlement. Relish the beauty of a wonderful sunset in the evening. Night halt at the hotel of Pelling.

Day 02: Pelling Sightseeing

After breakfast at the hotel – Drive for a Full Day of Sightseeing. The routes are forested and the botanical and zoological richness is inspiring.

First Half visit Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdantse Ruins, Chenrezig Statue & Skywalk - a magnificent glass Skywalk perched above the mist-clad mountains of Pelling. The Skywalk is surrounded by the lofty Himalayas and it overlooks the 137-feet tall marvellous statue of Chenrezig. The Chenrezig statue in Pelling is the fourth tallest statue in Sikkim. The Sikkim Skywalk is India’s very first glass Skywalk. It gives a spectacular view of the Chenrezig statue and the stairs that lead up to it, with golden prayer wheels on both sides

Post Lunch Places to visit are Darap Village, Rimbi Water Falls, Rimbi Orange Garden, and Khecheopalri Lake which is one of the holy Buddhist lakes and is believed that any wish in front of the lake comes true. The myth is that when a leaf falls on the placid clear water surface, it is picked by a bird and thus the water surface is always free of leaves, Khecheopalri Monastery, Kanchenjunga Waterfalls.

Day 03: Excursion to Singshore Bridge

On the third day of your 15 Days Darjeeling North Sikkim Pelling Tour PackageAfter breakfast go for an excursion to the Singshore Bridge, the highest bridge in Sikkim and the second highest in the Asian subcontinent with a height of over 100 meters and length of 220 meters. It is built in between two hills and surrounded by lush green mountains with falls just below the bridge. Also, visit Dentham Valley and Changey Waterfall.

The rest of the day is free for leisure.

Day 04: Transfer to Gangtok via Ravangla Buddha Park

After breakfast takes a drive of 140 kilometres 5 - 6 hours through the hilly scenic roads to Gangtok. 

En route visit Buddha Park, also known as Tathagata Tsal, which is situated near Rabong (Ravangla) in the South Sikkim district. It features a 130-foot (40 m) high statue of the Buddha as its centrepiece. The site was chosen within the larger religious complex of the Rabong Gompa (Monastery), which is itself a centuries-old place of pilgrimage. it is surrounded by lush green gardens and peaceful surroundings, and it has an ample walkway for visitors. From here, you can witness an uninterrupted view of the mountains and also Cho Djo Lake. This site is of great spiritual importance and the ambience adds a divine experience to the visitors. Nearby the park, there are also a meditation centre, a museum, and a Buddhist conclave. Also nearby is Ralang Monastery, a key monastery in Tibetan Buddhism. Visit Temi Tea Garden. 

Check into the hotel at Gangtok.

Evening free to roam around the capital city of Sikkim.

Day 05: Transfer to Lachen from Gangtok 

Early morning breakfast. Drive 135 kilometres, 5/6 hours drive through a scenic route - Enroute Visit:-

Tashi View Point - Built by Tashi Namgyal, offers a panoramic view of Mt. Khangchendzonga.

Kabi Longstok - A historic place, located on North Sikkim Highway. This is where a treaty between Lepcha Chief Te-Kung-Tek and the Bhutia Chief Khey-Bum-Sar was signed.

Seven Sister Waterfalls - The name is given to this waterfall as it makes its descent in seven stages. To facilitate the tourists to savour the pristine beauty and to be with nature, the Tourism Department of Sikkim has set up a waiting shed and cafeteria here.

Naga Waterfalls - The confluence of Lachen-Chu and Lachung-Chu at Chungthang. Mostly perennial in nature, waterfalls are aplenty in this region, Bhim Nala & the Twin Waterfalls are two others one comes across en route North Sikkim Tour and the gorgeous Teesta follows you all the way.

Reach Lachen late afternoon / early evening. The snow-capped peaks, the Shingba Wildlife Sanctuary, Gurudongmar Lake, Chopta Valley, and Thangu are the major attractions of Lachen. It’s a valley surrounded by gigantic and humbling snow-peaked mountains and the starting point of Green Lake Trek. In fact, the village is cradled between stern, tall rock faces standing like guards. A hamlet with very few people. Evening free to stroll and visit the Lepcha Village.

Day 06: Excursion to Gurudongmar Lake and Thangu Village & Lachung Transfer

Early morning breakfast – Visit Gurudongmar Lake (55 kilometres, 2 ½  - 3 ½  hours drive) - we will drive through the high altitude valleys over 12,000 feet (Cold Desert) till Tibet / China. These valleys are generally covered with snow from December to April. Gurudongmar Lake, even more, is known as the Holy / Sacred Lake. Spend 1/2 Hrs.

Next. After this, we will drive back to Thangu Village (13000 feet). From the month of October to March, the land is shrouded with a white blanket of snow. Thangu Valley begins turning into a canvas of numerous shades from the month of May with the start of the blooming season. Thangu is acclaimed for the natural beauty of its alpine vegetation. The region is fully covered with Rhododendron forest.

Lachen to Lachung-Post Gurudongmar Trip, you will return to Lachen for your transfer to Lachung.On the way there, you will pass by Bhim Nala Waterfall and the Holy Rock at Chungthang. Arrive at Lachung and check in to the Lachung hotel.

(Optional-Chopta Valley & Kala Patthar -Rs 3500-4500/Vehicle Extra)

Chopta Valley- Journey to Chopta Valley from Lachen is itself a thrilling one. The green vegetation of lower altitudes will soon give way to Alpine terrain with canonical trees. As you go further up, the trees give way to small bushes and beyond Thangu the vegetation is relatively less as you get into the Tibetan plateau. The Chopta Valley is the last green vegetation on this route. The place has got a majestic view of the snowy peaks, mountain slopes covered with pine and rhododendron forests, and grazing fields around the river meandering throughout the valley, making it an ideal place for trekkers and explorers. It is the safe haven for many rare species of birds and animals, which allures many birders and wildlife lovers to visit this place. Its river is well stocked for the anglers and well-flowing for the water sports adventurist

Kala Patthar- Drive further from Chopta Valley to reach Kala Patthar. The only colours that prevail at Kala Patthar, Sikkim were black and white. The whole area remains covered with snow throughout the year and amidst these snowfields, the black mountains/rocks break the monotony of Snow white colour. The temperature of the place used to lie below zero and snow exists throughout the year. This is not as high as Gurudongmar lake. So less chance of breathing problems and high altitude sickness. Children can enjoy in the snow here ie. making snow idols, frolicking with snow etc

Day 07: Excursion to Yumthung Valley 

Early morning breakfast drive towards Yumthang situated at an elevation of nearly 11800 feet – 105 kilometres and 5 ½ hours drive from Thangu. Visit the famous Hot Spring which is known for its curative properties of skin diseases. Visit Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary.

Yumthang is a valley near the river Lachung Chu surrounded by mountains where the tree line ends - In the months of April-June, the valley erupts in riots of colours as Primula, Rhododendrons and many other Alpine flowers in full bloom along with snow-covered valley except in autumn - During winter Yumthang is sombre with snow all around and the snow-clad mountains adding to the beauty. The sight of the snow-covered mountain ranges and rivers will remind you of the valleys of Switzerland.

Return to Lachung and Overnight Stay.

(Optional-Zero Point-Rs 3500-4500/Vehicle Extra)

Zero Point-A perfect destination for high altitude excursions. Yumesamdong or Zero point Sikkim stands at an altitude of 15,300 feet above sea level and offers beautiful sightseeing opportunities. It is the last outpost of civilization and there is no road ahead. Owing to a higher altitude, oxygen levels there are pretty low.

The beautiful confluence of three rivers, surrounding snow-clad mountains and marvellous scenic views makes Zero Point Sikkim one of the best places to visit in India. It is one of Sikkim’s prime tourist attractions. The sight of the yaks grazing in the snow is a pleasant one. You will be completely smitten by the surrounding natural beauty.

All those people who love winters and fantasize about spending time in the snow, Zero Point is the place for you! It remains covered with snow for the most part of the year.

Day 08: Lachung to Gangtok

Day 09: Gangtok Full-Day Local Sightseeing

After breakfast visit Hanuman Tak, Ganesh Tak, and Tashi view Point. These three points are famous for watching beautiful early morning views on Mt Kanchenjunga. Then visit Sikkim Himalayan Zoological Park, Bakthang Falls, Do Drul Chorten, Kanchendzonga Tourist Park, Research Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom, Flower Show, Chorten Stupa, Cottage Industry, Gangtok Ropeway, Nam Nang Viewpoint. Evening free at Gangtok for shopping and individual activity.

Overnight at Gangtok.

Day 10: Gangtok to Zuluk and Nathang Valley Sightseeing

Today morning after breakfast we will drive to Zuluk (101 km, 5hrs).

While on your journey to Zuluk, you can visit popular sightseeing destinations such as Tukla Valley, Thambi View Point, Lungthang, Old Baba Mandir, Kalipokhri Lake, Elephant Lake or Hati Lake, Kupup Lake, New Baba Mandir, Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary and Changu Lake or Tsomgo Lake. Reach Zuluk in the afternoon.

Overnight stay at Zuluk.

(Optional- Nathula Pass - Those that want a tour to Nathula Pass, have to contact our representatives a day prior, so the permit can be arranged. Rs 800/Head Extra)

Day 11: Zuluk to Aritar

After breakfast spend time visiting the local attractions at Zuluk and then head to Aritar (50 km / 2 hrs drive).

Aritar, located at the edge of the Himalayas popularly known for its rivers, lush forests and mountains. After reaching Aritar head out for sightseeing to the local attractions. This sightseeing will include a visit to popular destinations such as Aritar Monastery, Lampokhri, Parbateswar Shivalaya Mandir, Dak Bungalow, Parbateswar Shivalaya Mandir, Mankhim, and Helipad. Explore the rich landscape that the place is bestowed with. 

Overnight at Aritar.

Day 12: Aritar to Darjeeling

After Morning Breakfast Drive To Darjeeling Via Rangpo. The drive will be via Rangpo, Chitrey. On the way take a stop at Coronation Bridge for Photography If the time permits.

Arrive in Darjeeling and the rest of the day is free for your leisure.

Day 13: Tiger Hill & Darjeeling Local Sightseeing

Early morning at around 3:45 AM drive to 8000 feet / 2440 meters through primitive forests of oak, magnolia to Tiger Hill to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather) – On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Peace memorial & Batasia Loop – On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Peace memorial & Batasia Loop. Back to the hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast rest for half an hour and then prepare for the next round of sightseeing. This Half-Day City Tour of Darjeeling includes  Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday),  Ropeway, Tensing   Gumpo  Rock, Tibetan  Refugee Self  Help Center (Closed on Sunday), Tea Estate, Natural History Museum (Sunday  Closed), Peace Pagoda. 

Day 14: Darjeeling to Mirik

After breakfast proceeds to Mirik (4,900 ft.), via Indo-Nepal Border (Extra vehicle charges will be applicable for Nepal Border to Pasupati Market). The drive is through scenic roads with an occasional stoppage for photography. Mirik is known for its man-made Sumendu Lake in the centre surrounded by pine trees, its landscaped tea gardens and orange orchards.

Overnight stay at Mirik.

Day 15: Departure

Morning breakfast – After breakfast transfer to Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction) – Nearly 75 kilometres / 3 hours drive.
