Pick Up-Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction) / Siliguri 



Day 1 : NJP/Siliguri – Maneybhanjang – Tumling 101 kms/5. 5 hrs

Pick up from NJP Railway Station/Siliguri transfer to Manebhanjan (7,054 ft.)-88 kms/4 hrs.Then proceed to Tumling by Non AC Land Rover-13 kms/1.5 hrs.En-route visit Chitre,a small village about 3 kms from Manebhanjan located at an altitude of 8,340 ft. The route up to Chitre passes through the forests of pine, fir, birch and bamboo glades. There is an old Buddhist Monastery at Chitrey, You will pass by the monastery.Visit Lamey Dhura.Lamey Dhura is a hamlet inhabited by only five Tibetan families. This is another small village located at the border of India and Nepal and about 3 kms from Lamey Dhura there is another village named Meghma which is situated at an altitude of 9, 514 ft.There is a monastery at the entrance of Meghma. From Meghma the gravel road bifurcates.The one on the right goes towards Tonglu 2 kms which is part of India. The route on the left from Meghma goes to another settlement known as Tumling 4 kms which is part of Nepal. Tumling, there is a lovely view point which is more like an open field. From the edge of this area you get magnificent views of the Kanchenjunga snow peaks. Tumling actually is part of Nepal although there is no restriction to visit the place for Indians or even foreigners with Indian visa. In fact the border between India and Nepal in this part is quite blurred and it’s kind of a free way for all. You won’t know when you are crossing the border. Dinner will be served at hotel, overnight at Tumling 9, 600 ft.Overnight stay at Tumling.

Day 2 : Tumling – Sandakphu 19 kms/2. 5 hrs

Early morning visit Tonglu by trek, Tonglu is actually one of the peaks of Singalila range and located at an altitude of 10,130ft. Earlier in the 1800s this place was part of Sikkim and known as Mount Tonglo.Back to hotel at Tumling.Check out Tumling hotel and proceed to Sandakphu.En-route visit Gairibas (8,600 ft.) and Kalapokhri (10,400 ft.).Kalapokhri is named so because of a pond or a water tank filled with black water. From Kalapokhri, the route gradually ascends up to Bikheybhanjang which is located 2 kms away. On the way you will cross a place called Chowri Chowk where you can take a break for a couple of minutes. There is nothing much at Bikhey Bhanjyang.On this motorable route the Last 4 kms from Bikhey Bhanjyang to Sandakphu is very steep and narrow.You could see the Sandakphu Peak from Kalipokhri itself.Sandakphu is the place from where you get a 180 degree panoramic vista of some of the highest and most beautiful peaks of the world, right from Nepal all the way up to Arunachal. Some of the greatest peaks include the Mt Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Chomolhari, Pandim, Three Sisters, Kumbhakarna etc.Overnight at Sandakphu (11,929 ft.). 

Day 3 : Sandakphu – Maneybhanjang – Zuluk 200 kms/8.5 hrs

Drive down to Maneybhanjyang by Non AC Land Rover 35 kms / 4 hrs.Then Drive 170 kilometres, 7/8 hours drive through a scenic as well as an adventurous route to Zuluk.Reach Zuluk late afternoon / early evening.Before that all the permit proceedings have to be finished and it can take upto 2/3  hrs to be completed.Zuluk is situated at an altitude of 10,000 ft of sea level and has the charm of Alpine Himalayas.Zuluk  perched on the rugged terrain of the lower Himalayas in East Sikkim.It is a hamlet close to Indo-China border. Zuluk is located on the famous Old-Silk-Route. Zuluk is a relatively new offbeat destination of Sikkim and has a primitive charm. On the way to Zuluk some places like Traditional Lepcha House, Tribal Village Walk, Dhoksing Water Falls, Serveng  Water Falls, Museum & Subba Heritage House, Sanga Choeling (Bhutia) Monastery and Sherpa Monastery,Rongli, Keokhola Water Falls,Lingtam and Padamchen are worth a visit. Evening free for individual activity and leisure. Overnight in Dzuluk/Zuluk.

Day 4 : Zuluk/Nathang 110 kms/5.5 hrs: 

Transfer to Nathang and Sightseeing – Its a distance of approximately 23 kilometres and is nearly 1/2 hours drive by Road from Zuluk.Nathang (13,500 feet) is generally covered with snow during winters and the chilling wind gushes through the valley – The area is an Indian Army Station – Local people depends mainly on tourism for livelihood –   Early morning we will start our journey with a Sunrise Trip to Thambi View Point and continue sightseeing at Zuluk, Zig Zag road, Lungthung and reach Nathang .Night stay at Nathang.

Day 5 : Nathang to Gangtok 

Early morning sunrise trip to Eagle’s Nest Bunker or Lungthung. Return to Nathang for breakfast. Leave Nathang after breakfast and start for the Journey toward Gangtok. On the way sightseeing at Old Baba Mandir, Kupup Lake, New Baba Mandir, Menmecho Lake (you have to trek to reach Menmecho), Tukla Valley, Jelepla Pass, Yak Golf Course, Ice Hockey Field, Four Lake Point, Tsomgo (Changu) Lake. Drop at Gangtok.

Day 6 : Transfer to Lachen from Gangtok 

Early morning breakfast.Drive 135 kilometres, 5/6 hours drive through a scenic route – Reach Lachen late afternoon / early evening – The snow capped peaks, the Shingba Wildlife Sanctuary, Gurudongmar Lake, Chopta Valley, Thangu are the major attractions. It’s a valley surrounded by gigantic and humbling snow peaked mountains and the starting point of Green Lake Trek. In fact the village cradled between stern, tall rock faces standing like guards. A hamlet with very few people. Evening free to stroll and visit the Lepcha Village.Overnight stay at Hotel in Lachen

Day 7 : Excursion to Gurudongmar Lake and Night Stay at Thangu Village

Early morning breakfast – Visit to Gurudongmar Lake 55 kilometres, 2 ½  – 3 ½ hours drive – we will go through the high altitude valleys over 12,000 feet through which Lachen Chu flows.This valleys are generally covered with snow from December to April.Gurudongmar Lake even more is known as the Holy / Sacred Lake – Next drive through the cold desert till Tibet / China.Spend 1/2 Hrs.After  this we will drive back to Thangu Village (13000 feet) for an Overnight Stay.From the month of October to March, the land is shrouded with the white blanket of snow.Thangu Valley begins turning into a canvas of numerous shades from the month of May with the start of the blooming season.Thangu is acclaimed for the natural beauty of its alpine vegetation.The region is fully covered with Rhododendron forest.Overnight stay at Homestay/Hotel.

**Those who will prefer Comfortable Night Stay in a Star Hotel will be transferred to Lachen from Kala Patthar or Gurudongmar Lake for the overnight stay instead of staying at Thangu.

(Optional-Chopta Valley & Kalapatthar-Rs 3500-4500/Vehicle Extra)

Chopta Valley- Journey to Chopta Valley from Lachen is itself a thrilling one.The green vegetation of lower altitude will soon give way to Alpine terrain with canonical trees. As you go further up, the trees give way to small bushes and beyond Thangu the vegetation is relatively less as you get into Tibetan plateau. The Chopta Valley is the last green vegetation on this route.The place has got the majestic view of the snowy peaks,mountain slopes covered with pine and rhododendron forests,grazing fields around the river meandering throughout the valley, make it an ideal place for the trekkers and explorers.It is the safe haven for many rare species of birds and animals, that allures many birders and wildlife lovers to visit this place. Its river is well stocked for the anglers and well-flowing for the water sports adventurist

Kala Patthar- Drive further from Chopta Valley to reach Kala Patthar.The only colours that prevail at Kalapatthar,Sikkim were black and white.The whole area remains covered with snow throughout the year and amidst this snowfields the black mountains/rocks break the monotony of Snow white colour.The temperature of the place used to lie below zero and snow exists throughout the year.This is not as high as Gurudongmar lake.So less chance of breathing problems and high altitude sickness.Children can enjoy in the snow here ie. making snow idol,frolicking with snow etc

Day 8 : Thangu-Lachung-Sightseeing at Yumthang

Early morning breakfast drive towards Yumthang situated at an elevation of nearly 11800 feet – 105 kilometres and 5 ½ hours drive from Thangu.On the way back one  can visit the famous Hot Spring which is known for its curative properties of skin diseases.Visit Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary.Yumthang is a valley near the river Lachung Chu surrounded  by mountains where the tree line ends – In spring,the valley erupts in riots of colors as Primulae, Rhododendrons and many other Alpine flowers in full bloom along with snow covered valley except in autumn – During winter Yumthang is somber with snow all around and the snow clad mountains adding to the beauty.Overnight stay at Lachung.

Day 9 : Katao Pass Visit and Return to Gangtok

Mt Katao or Katao is an offbeat destination in Sikkim. Katao is often reckoned for being the paradise for adventure sport lovers. The rugged landscape of Katao makes it the base ground for adventure activities in Sikkim like snowboarding, skiing, snow tubing and stone grinding.Located in the further region of North Sikkim, Katao Valley is perched on the Donkhila Hill at an altitude of 13500 ft along the Indo-China border offering the panoramic view of snow capped Himalayan range.Blessed with enthralling beauty Katao is often known as the Switzerland of India.

Later in the day start return journey from Katao to Gangtok.Reach Gangtok by evening.Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 10 : Drop  

After breakfast start the return journey towards Siliguri/NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport with the Sweet Memories of your Darjeeling Sikkim Trip.

  • Every guest must  carry 04 passport size photograph along with their Photo-ID proof (i.e.Driving License, Passport, Voter-ID Card & School ID Card for children). Pan Card is not valid since it does not carry address.These documents are required to obtain the permit for Changu Lake/Baba Mandir in Gangtok. And the same is applicable to the permit for Lachung in North Sikkim.
  • On arrival in Gangtok (the capital of Sikkim) guest will be dropped at the local stand outside the main city where the local taxis will be arranged to transfer guests to their booked hotel. Traffic system in Gangtok is very strict compared to other cities to avoid unnecessary traffic jams on the road. Large vehicle (i.e. coach, Sumo) are not allowed to enter the city  between 8 am to 6 pm therefore local taxis such as Maruti Van are used to tranship the guests to the hotel (only 04 people can accommodate in one van).
  • In Lachung & Pelling tourists will get only basic facilities in hotels and we recommend not to expect any luxury as both are very remote areas.
  • Transportation will not be provided for personal use like shopping, restaurant use etc. Vehicle will be provided as per itinerary for sightseeing and intercity transfers only.
  • Nathula Trip will be done in Shared Vehicle

On tour Guests are requested to carry 4 photo copies (xerox) of any Photo ID proof (Except Pan Card) i.e. Passport / Driving Licence / Voter’s ID along with them. Also submit a copy of the same at the time of booking.

Nathula Pass

For Nathula Pass Extra Permission is needed.Hence the Trip to Nathula will cost 500 Rs/Head extra.

Nathula Pass is closed on Monday and Tuesday and Friday.
