Day 01: NJP/Hasimara Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport to Phuentsholing (165 Kms/4 Hrs)

On arrival at N.J.P Rly. Station / IXB Bagdogra airport you will be received by SetMyTrip's Professional representative, who will be waiting outside for a traditional well come and proceed for Phuentsholing (980 ft./142 km/3 hours), through the lush green as well as the most beautiful Tea garden in Dooars.On arrival at Phuentsholing, The most rapidly growing town in Bhutan check in at your hotel.

Day 02: Phuentsholing to Thimphu

After breakfast proceeds to Thimphu (7875 ft./170km/7 hours). And after a short drive visits Kharbandi Gompa to get a breathtaking view of Phuentsholing and also the Indian plains. Being nature-loving and friendly with the Guest we stop our journey on the way from time to time to see & feel the mesmerizing Himalayan landscapes of Bhutan. We will take a lunch break and again start our journey. On the way, we will reach the highest point of about 2800m/9,185ft. Before reaching Thimphu again we will stop to visit Simtokha Dzong. On arrival at Thimphu check in at the hotel & you will be taken care of with our hotel’s premium hospitality.

Day 03: Thimphu Sightseeing

On the third day of your 7 Days Bhutan Tour Package with Punakha Ex Phuensholing in the Morning goes for a local sightseeing tour of Thimphu city. First, visit the Kuensel Phodrang where recites a gigantic statue of Lord Buddha. This fascinating location is circled by snowy peaks and lush green hills and overlooks the graphic landscapes of Thimphu Valley. Next, you will be taken to the National Memorial Chorten which is located in the middle of the city and is known for outstanding and superior Buddhist architecture depicted through gorgeous paintings and sculptures. Afterward, visit the Folk Heritage Museum which was established in the year 2001 and is recognized to give you a glance at the Bhutanese rural lifestyle. After midday, the next stop would be Sangaygang View Point which is one of the most amazing places in Thimphu as you can catch a speechless view of the entire town from a great height. Plus, the cold weather and foggy atmosphere at this picturesque location will make your day. Up next there is Changangkha Monastery which hums day and night with different pilgrim activities. This 9-centuries old Lhakhang is a prominent place of worship for locals as they pay their call here to name their newborns with the grace of God. Visit Takin Preserve Centre, you will visit the large fenced enclosure that was originally established as a zoo. Besides, tourists will encounter the most amazing species and the national animal of the country Takin. Finally, you will be visiting Tashichho Dzong which is the most popular and biggest tourist attraction of Thimphu. This place is special because it is the home and office of the king and the house of the secretarial board of Bhutan.

Day 04: Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula Pass (100 Kms/4 Hrs) and Punakha Sightseeing

After an early breakfast, drive up to Dochu-la Pass (3,088m/ 10,130 ft) and admire the cluster of 108 Chortens, Mani Wall, and the Prayer Flags that decorate this highest point on the road. If the skies are clear, the following peaks can be seen from this pass Masaganang (7158 meters), Tsendagang (6960 meters), Terrigang (7060 meters), Jejegangphugang (7158 meters), Kangphugang (7170 meters ), Zong Huang (7060 meters), and Gangkar Puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan at 7497 meters. From the pass, the road curls its way down into the relative lowlands of the Punakha Valley.

In Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong: beautiful Punakha Dzong known as the “palace of great happiness”, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu (father) and Mo Chhu (mother) rivers in the Punakha–Wangdue valley. This dzong is one of the most picturesque of all Bhutan’s ancient fortresses The dzong is joined to the mainland by an arched wooden bridge and contains many precious relics from the days when successive kings reigned the kingdom from this valley. Visit the Suspension Bridge, a hidden treasure of Punakha Valley. the second longest suspension bridge in the country over the River Mo. It gives you some spectacular views of the Punakha Dzong and the Pho Chhu Valley. Next after crossing the Fo-Chu and Mo-Chu rivers, drive along the Wangdue Phodrang and visit the newly developed small beautiful town, Bazo Town in Wangdue.

Day 05 : Punakha – Paro /4 Hrs

In the morning, after breakfast, start for Paro, the picturesque town in Bhutan. En route visit Simtokha Dzong, a small dzong, built-in 1629 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, who unified Bhutan. The dzong is the first of its kind built in Bhutan. It is an important historical monument and former Buddhist monastery, today it houses one of the premier Dzongkha language learning institutes. Visit the National Museum of Bhutan. Situated right above Rinpung Dzong in Paro, the National Museum of Bhutan is a house that showcases Bhutan’s culture. It was built in 1968 inside the ancient Ta-dzong building. The museum houses the collection of the finest specimens of Bhutanese culture and art and its highlights are paintings and some bronze statues, which are simply masterpieces. The items are demonstrated in large galleries and you can get to know a lot about Bhutan’s art and culture from these objects. Visit Ta Dzong. Ta Dzong, once a watchtower, was built to defend Rinpung Dzong during the inter-valley wars of the 17th century. Visit Rinpung Dzong - Built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the first spiritual and temporal ruler of Bhutan, the Dzong houses the monastic body of Paro, the office of the Dzongda (district administrative head) and Thrimpon (judge) of Paro district. The approach to the Dzong is through a traditional covered bridge called Nemi Zam. Nya Mey Zam Bridge - "The Bridge with No Fish " is the bridge that connects Paro Town to Dzong. It is one of the finest specimens in Bhutan and local believes if one sees a fish in the river, it is an ill omen. The earlier bridge which could be folded during the war was washed away by flood in 1969. Visit Paro Airport View Point – This is the finest valley view point to view the Paro Valley and Paro Airport. This viewpoint overlooks the Paro river along with all the Dzongs and Monastery.

Day 06: Paro Sightseeing

Morning two hours hike to reach Taktsang Monastery - Tiger's Nest - Later visit Drugyel Dzong (fortress) - The Dzong was built in 1649 by Shabdrung Nawang Namgyel to commemorate the victory of Bhutan over Tibetan Invaders in 1644 - Destroyed by fire in 1951 - Spectacular view of sacred Mountain Jumolhari is worth it - On the way back view Taktsang Monastery perched on the side of a cliff at 900 meters - Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples. Evening stroll around Paro town.

Day 07: Departure – Transfer from Paro to Phuentsholing/Hasimara/NJP

Early morning breakfast, Transfer from Paro to Jaigaon / Phuentsholing/Hasimara - A drive of nearly 180 kilometers, a drive of approximately 6 - 7 hours - After Breakfast transfer to Phuentsholing/Hasimara – On the way take a short stop at Chuzom, the confluence of Paro and Thimphu rivers with three different style of Stupas adorn this confluence - Drive further through Chapcha and later take glimpse of famous Chukha Dam and the magnificent Vince waterfall before Gedu town - ArrivePhuentsholing/Hasimara by evening and check into the hotel or Board Train for Return Journey.
